Scientist Fest July 2017 Lineup＜Venue: Miraikan＞
There are storms in space too?!
We all check the weather before we leave the house, right?
But what about going on a trip in space? There are storms in space just like here on Earth. They all have their origin in the sun. When flares erupt from the sun’s surface they send high energy particles and electromagnetic waves sweeping through space, just like a rainstorm, and these space storms often interfere with satellites.
This event is a chance to think together about the ‘space weather forecasts’ of the near future, from an era in which space will be even more accessible than it is now.
