How can it stop in the right place without a driver?
①The train is now getting close to a station.
There are transmitters located at 240m, 85m, and 10m from the station. When the train passes by each transmitter, the distance to the station is sent to the Station ATO Controller on the train.
The Onboard ATO Controller sends a signal to the ATO Train Controller to reduce the speed.
③Arriving at Station
The train stops at the transmitter on the platform.
④Confirming Train Stop
The Station ATO Controller on the train informs the Station ATO device that the train has stopped at the right position.
The Station ATO Controller opens the platform doors.
The Onboard ATO Controller opens the train doors.
Flow of Automated Driving
Central Command Office
This office monitors the Yurikamome in service. The office sends commands to delay the schedule timing of doors closing and prevent the train from starting when necessary.
Station (Station ATO Controller)
The central command office sends information to the station machine room. Then information is sent from the station machine room to the trains.
Five Systetms Supporting Yurikamome
In order to operate the Yurikamome, we need ELECTICITY to move the train, POWER CABLES to provide electricity, SIGNALS to create traffic rules, as in the traffic of cars and buses, and TELECOMMUNICAION and other systems to link the trains with the control center (central command office). We call the whole system the comprehensive control system.
