Telecom Center

Let’s get on the Yurikamome from Fune-no-kagakukan Station to Telecom Center Station.

From the train, you can see Tokyo Wangan Police Station, Tokyo Customs, and Ooedo Onsen Monogatari.

Look at the large building in front. That is Telecom Center. Very impressive and futuristic building.

We are soon to arrive at Telecom Center Station.

Aomi Minami-futo Park

Get out of the station and walk to Aomi-futou Park, an L-shaped ground located to the south of the station.

This is one of Yurimo’s favourite spots! Because this is the best spot in Odaiba where you can enjoy a closest look at soaring aircraft on their way to or from Haneda Airport. I wish I could that high.

Waterfall Plaza

Waterfall Plaza to West Promenade

This is a plaza spreading before the station, featuring a waterfall that flows down into a large fountain. Plenty of people come here to relax during lunch hour or on holidays. In fact, there is a public toilet behind this waterfall.

The plaza is dotted with contemporary art objects to entertain visitors. Yurimo’s favorite is a lamp showing the pictures of ‘paper, stone and scissors’ (janken) on the floor. This passage is also called the janken street. Are you ready? Paper, stone, and scissors!

In the plaza, there are Miraikan, a futuristic science museum directed by astronaut Mamoru Mohri, the Tokyo Port Museum where you can learn about the history of Tokyo Port, and Fuji Television Wangan Studio.

Let’s walk through West Promenade to head toward Fuji TV Building.

Through West Promenade to Skywalk

This walkway runs along the western edge of Symbol Promenade Park, Odaiba’s main artery for wanderers. The walkway connects Daiba and Telecom Center stations north-south and is surrounded by plants with seasonal changes.

There are many people enjoying bicycling and jogging here.

Do you see the fork splitting the way?
If you turn right, it will lead you to the Center Promenade, the main walkway of Symbol Promenade Park

This time, we are going straight to Daiba Station.

The monument on your left is called Liberty Flame.
This statue was a gift from France in commemoration of the ‘France Year in Japan’. The statue, including it pedestal, is as tall as 27 meters. It looks like the flame is reaching out into the sky.
Fuji TV Building looks very huge.

The monument on your right after crossing the bridge is the Gate of Venus.
This monument has a feel of dignity.

Let’s walk through under an overpass of the Yurikamome tracks.

This pass is a height of a three-story building and offers a very close view of the Yurikamome.
You can see many people on board.

We are soon to reach the Skywalk.
This is a popular destination with the Statue of Liberty standing very close. You can also get a good view of the bay and the Rainbow Bridge.
This is a great place to pose for cameras. Say cheese!
