The Fune-no-kagakukan (Fune-no-kagakukan) was opened in 1972 and attracted 5.5 million people with its space science exhibition in 1978-1979. The exhibit of the ‘Moon Rock’ was among the most popular.

It is said that putting a picture of the treasure ship with the Seven Gods of Good Fortune under the pillow in the New Year brings you a good luck. This tradition dates from the mid-Edo period, and the original picture was a treasure boat loaded with gold and silver.
