This station is named after Tokyo Big Sight (Kokusai-tenjijo), a convention complex that has a distinctive design with a set of four pyramids placed on top. The pyramids were lifted 58m by cranes and put in place in a three-day operation.
This is a pattern using cherry blossoms. For most people, the cherry trees evoke the most famous Somei-yoshino variety, a crossbreed of the Oshima and Edo Higan varieties developed in the late Edo period. The species depicted in this pattern is probably the Edo Higan variety as it blooms with five-petal blossoms without shooting leaves.
